Xueying Lu Research Group @NIU/ANL

Our mission

Welcome to our lab, the Advanced Accelerators and Beams Laboratory (AABL) at Northern Illinois University & Argonne National Laboratory!

Our mission is to study advanced accelerators and beams for the next-generation linear particle colliders, and new applications in high power microwaves and compact light sources.

Our research can be divided into the following areas:

  • Advanced accelerator concepts

  • Novel radiofrequency structures

  • Terahertz wakefield acceleration

  • Physics of beam-wave interaction

  • Applications of compact accelerators

More details can be found on the Research page.

We are part of the Northern Illinois Center for Accelerator and Detector Development (NICADD). Much of our research capitalizes on the unique beam lines at the Argonne Wakefield Accelerator at the Argonne National Laboratory.
